The first DAFNAE research yearbook presents the abstracts of papers published during this first two-year period (2012-13), obtained from the ISI and Scopus databases and grouped into the eight following research areas:

Agronomy and soil science
Animal science
Ecology and environmental science
Entomology
Food science and technology
Genetics and genomics
Microbiology
Plant science

This is therefore a first snapshot of DAFNAE’s research activity, which mainly focuses on the production and dissemination of basic and applied knowledge acquired with the aim to improve the quality of human life, to promote competitiveness in the agri-food sector and the sustainable use of biotic and abiotic natural resources.
The idea of publishing a DAFNAE yearbook as a means of presenting and disseminating the Department’s research activities came from Prof. Maurizio Borin, head of DAFNAE - Department of Agronomy, Food, Natural resources, Animals and Environment.
All the researchers at DAFNAE hope that this first edition will be the beginning of a series of many future yearbooks.
